WHAT IS TOXFF?

The Toxic Film Festival (TOXFF) celebrates and supports independent genre films and filmmakers from around the world. We consider horror, fantasy, science fiction, action, thriller, experimental and exploitation films. Judged by a jury of industry professionals and genre enthusiasts, the TOXFF awards 13 main different categories which include: BEST FEATURE, BEST SHORT FILM, BEST EXPERIMENTAL FILM, BEST DIRECTOR, BEST SCREENPLAY, BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY, BEST SCORE, BEST PRACTICAL FX, BEST VISUAL FX, BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, BEST CHARACTER ACTOR and BEST DEBUT DIRECTOR.

TOXFF also awards 7 Special sub-categories: BEST VILLAIN, GORIEST FILM, BEST POSTER ART, MOST ORIGINAL CONCEPT, CRAZIEST CINEMATIC DEATH and the outstanding FEMME FATALE and INSTANT CULT Awards for a total of 20 awards.

At this moment TOXFF is an on-line film festival, but plans are to turn into a live festival in the very next future.

But The Toxic Award is a TRUE trophy. The winner list will be published online and the Toxic Award Statuette will be sent to all winners.

TOXFF seeks the latest works by debut and veteran filmmakers around the world, with the purpose to introduce audiences to their new creations, to gain visibility across the industry and to encourage dialogue.

The Process:

1. Submit your work, short films and features are eligible.

2. Board of directors will select the films that will enter the competition.

3. Finalists will be judged by Festival Juries through private screenings.

4. Winners will be announced at the completion of the festival.
